Carpe that F$$$ing Diem.

I had an epiphany tonight about the word inspiration...

And the fact that it cannot be contained.

Just as a disclaimer...I am 100% sober. It's just that I'm also 60% philosopher/thinker. I know what you thinking and yes. Yes sometimes my head does hurt from thinking too much. Ok moving on.


Inspiration is an emotive word because with it comes feeling, movement, memory, creativity, motivation - emotion.

People can inspire others though acts of kindness. People can be inspired by nature. The word creates a two way 'active process'; One can be inspired as well as inspire others.

The one thing that humans hold as a core connection to one another is our ability to be emotional.

We are emotional beings. Accept it.

Some can channel their emotions into action, some into creativity, some into thoughts and others into philosophy.

Has anyone ever associated inspiration with the negative? I doubt it...but I do question it..

The best thing about the ability to inspire or to be inspired is that (I think) more often than not it generates positivity and possibility... and it is never ending, but rather a continuously evolving flow of ideas and impact.

Some of the greatest artworks have inspired the average (or below average) art enthusiast and perhaps erupted an emotive reaction within them. Cause a further flow of perhaps inspiration even if just in thought.

But the artist him/herself was inspired too by something before and the chain of the inspired can be traced back as far as a mere memory and not further because there is no beginning to inspiration.

It is continuous and ever moving.

As designers we try to channel our inspiration into our works.

An interior designers aim should never be to work on a room in the hopes of just making it 'pretty' - In all honestly I hate that word as a description of a room!

But we channel inspiration to create emotion. As an interior designer my goal is to create an experience for those who enter a space. If possible transport a person to a better place, an emotive place.

A bedroom should feel calm and safe, a kitchen should feel social and exciting, a dinning room in of itself should be a conversation starter and so on.

We create spaces to make an experience and our work transcends beyond the wall colour and into your subconscious creative mind to carry on our passions - our inspirations into your life.

Feeling Blessed

Hi all!

I know it's been a while but my life has seriously been on overdrive! 

Warning: This is a happy post - like a really happy one. So if your one those people who are all...

...just walk away now.....

Firstly, Can you believe I have hit nearly 900 views on my blog?! AMAZING - Thanks all!

Ok so here is a recap of the past 2 months. I'm going to number them...

1. I have finally finished studying Interior Design! This has literally been a build up of the last 4 years from something I dreamed of to something I can actually do. Just goes to show that your limited only by yourself. If that doesn't inspire you do follow your dreams then I'm not sure what will.

I have also started to send out my resume! I found this to be a really difficult task. I'm not exactly sure why but I just keep wondering what a resume is supposed to look like?

On the one hand...I want it to stand out...but on the other hand...I don't want it to be this massive file to download and all my future boss's are like "stuff this...I'm not even downloading it...". But I do need to fit in a small summary of all  my projects...so the cycle in my head continues - anyone out there have any good resume/portfolio tips?

2. The other thing in my life that has started to take up so much time (and lessened my blogging attention) is a company called Train Like Hell - www.trainlikehell.com.au.

It is a site that anyone (Australia Wide) can go on, locate and book a Personal Trainer in their area! How convenient is that?!

It is a company that was set up in 2008 by a man I know with a brilliant mind. However he has been lead to other business opportunities and this project became neglected. 

As a 23 year old with no annual income, still studying, blogger, socialiser...we'll your getting the idea I had no stable income coming in and lots of motivation behind me - I needed a job and a challenge.

So I took the reins of the company! I hire trainers all over Australia and find them clients. It has been one of the most amazing business experiences I have undertaken so far and I cannot even write down the amount of experience I have gained! I am literally running a business, from my computer - and its working! 

3. My friends are amazing. Somehow, I have (unintentionally) surrounded myself with some amazing people. I'm actually going to name them...(just pretend I've just won a grammy and here is my speech)

Jenna - Jenna has and will always be my go-to-girl. She always listens, we have made some pretty unique memories and she's probably the coolest person I know!  I can tell her anything and know she will give me the best advice for me. Plus she is like a freekin mother bear when it comes to me and boys, always looking out for me and always trying to protect me. Watch out any boys who have to get her approval!!

Jess - Jessica is new to my inner circle and she is freekin one in a billion. We can talk until the sun comes up, we can (mainly she) can turn any simple social outing into a networking experience and we just have so much fun together! looking forward to her in my future - yep.

Ashley - Ashley is an old friend but we seem to be each other's therapist. If only we could claim medicare on our conversations...We speak about everything; relationships, emotions, studying, boys - everything. Not sure what I would do without her...I probably would have driven myself insane by now!

And

Pnina - Although she no longer lives in Australia. I miss her terribly and she is a huge part of who I am today!! She visits in January - yayay!!

But these girls together have made my life fun, exciting, thrilling, entertaining but also make me feel so secure, calm and confident - so thanks!

Don't even get me started on my family. My sisters are just everything anyone could ask for, my parents are so supportive, loving and generous! AND my nephews are so adorable!!!!

FINALLY

I have started networking in the design world. Now I'm not saying it's a done deal but Michael McCann has asked for my resume.... 

I sent him an email saying how much of a fan I am of his work and he replied!

Again, he might not like my style or think I have what it takes to be on his team (even though I think I would do an amazing job and grow so much with him) it just gives me the confidence and hope that it's all happening right now and anything is possible and attainable if I truly want it. And I do...so...it's all happening.

A Glimpse into the future

My life kind of began today. We'll at least I had a glimpse of the way I would like to start each morning.

I woke up at 7am. Stretched and yoga'ed (not really a word) myself into a good zen. Went for a walk and then a dive into Bondi Beach's crystal clear water. I then drove my car - roof down of course - past Harry's (a great coffee shop near Camilla) picked up a flat white and vanilla yoghurt truffle! -which was beyond delish!!! Sat in my front lawn with no phone just eating and getting warm (still wet from my dip) and finally by 9am was on my computer putting together a product board for a cafe I am currently designing.

Which brings me to something beautiful!! I have come across some stunning lights that I will be using in this project and I thought to share it with the world!!!!...or maybe just those who read my blog...if you people exist.... :p

It is an Aussie brand called CafeCulture and they have such a great selection of unique lighting and seating and tables and ottomans and well the list goes on! so go check it out. But definitely stop past their lighting range!

-Oh and last thing. Just because the brand would make you assume it is only for cafe's its not! you could totally incorporate some of their fantastic items in your home.

Coffee lovers must read. Coffee virgins....your welcome too

This whole post is being dedicated to Coffee with a side of breakfast!

Not only is it THE most important meal of the day but it is undoubtably my favourite!! And lets be honest....its the coffee hit all us coffee lovers look forward to. If your not a coffee lover...heres what a semi-addicts morning is like.

Wake up (time is irrelevant) The world is a blur, all noises become one and nothing is making sense. You stumble through your messy floor trying to get to the bathroom. Eyes still closed. Complete the basic bathroom routine with complete and utter efficiency because your mind is currently working towards one goal; get ready, get coffee.  Im dressed, I have my headphones in so no-one can talk to me and I walk to my one and only favourite coffee shop in London (because thats where I am now..) Its called Baker and Spice. Definitely a must see for any coffee lovers, just off Edgware road, Central London.
My sunglasses are on (weather is irrelevant) and my mind is blank (Drama is irrelevant). Quite literally. But then I smell it. The coffee beans and its like I'm on that rainbow Ron Burgundy and Christina Applegate ride in Anchorman.  I AM ALIVE BABY! and I would very much like to order one flat white with 2 sugars.

On todays schedule I am currently satisfied....oh and its 10:40am.... bit of a late start today. But in my defence, I wore some stunning Louboutin's last night, came home late and my feet needed a sleep in :)
